Pastor Enoch Adeboye’s journey in Christianity began on a significant day, July 29, 1973. This marked the start of his spiritual journey, which eventually led him to assume the role of General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) after the passing of Reverend Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, the church’s founder. Known as Daddy’ G.O’ or ‘Father-in-the-lord,’ he initiated the Holy Ghost Services (HGS), a monthly gathering that attracted millions of people. The creation of The Redemption Camp was a response to the space limitations.

Pastor Adeboye achieved global recognition on December 18, 1998, when he organized the inaugural Holy Ghost Congress (HGC) in Lekki, Lagos. The event attracted a staggering attendance of over 7 million people, which increased to 12 million in the subsequent year. The HGC has evolved into a yearly seven-day occasion, drawing in millions of attendees and witnessing numerous conversions and divine apparitions.

Pastor Adeboye is renowned for his modesty and unique pinstriped suits paired with bow ties. He has delivered sermons worldwide, from remote African villages to prominent cities.
